Andante Cards, Porto: Buy / Recharge the card, Manage & Check the balance online, Renew, Purchase Tickets?
Andante is a public transport ticketing system used in and around Porto, Portugal. It started operation in November 2002 at Metro do Porto stations and is now a cross-network ticket used on the Porto Metro, selected bus and train routes and the Funicular dos Guindais cable railway.

- Paper Card, not personalised and for occasional use.
- Validity period – 1 year (once the validity period expires, the cards cannot be topped up although the use of the remaining tickets is permitted for the following 12 months).
- Rechargeable with occasional trips (Simple and 24 Hours).
- Each card can contain several occasional trips simultaneously (e.g. 10 simple occasional trips Z4).
- Each card can only be used by its holder. (a Blue card loaded with 2 simple Z2 occasional trips cannot be used simultaneously by 2 people).
- Card personalised for regular use.
- Validity period – 5 years (once the validity period expires, the cards cannot be topped up although the use of the remaining tickets is permitted for the following 12 months).
- Rechargeable with any Andante ticket (passes and occasional trips).
- Can contain one pass and occasional tickets at the same time (e.g. 3Z pass and 5 Z2 simple occasional tickets).
- Each card can only be used by its holder.
- The Andante Tour 1 is valid on the entire intermodal andante network for 24 consecutive hours after the 1st validation
- The Andante Tour 3 is valid on the entire intermodal andante network for 72 consecutive hours after the 1st validation.
- The Andante Tour card cannot be topped up.
- On sale at Andante shops, CP ticket offices with Andante sales and Payshop agents (identified with Tour card).
- It is not valid on Funicular dos Guindais, STCP Tramway and some Private Operators.

- Visit nearest Vending Machine
- Click Buy a Ticket
- Select your travel zone
- Chose ticket quantity
- Select the option for your invoice (Either invoice with taxpayer number or invoice without taxpayer number)
- Enter the tax number
- Make a Payment
- You get a card within minutes
How to check balance?
- Visit the nearest Andante Store or vending machines at the stations.
- Insert the card into the slot
- Read the balance message that appears on the screen.
