The Breeze Card is a long-term card which allows loading of various and multiple fare products. It was introduced by MARTA for the passengers while travelling can use this card. The card automatically debits the cost of the passenger’s ride when placed on or near the Breeze Target at the fare gate. Transit riders are able to add value or time-based passes to the card at Breeze Vending Machines (BVM) located at all MARTA stations.

Steps to use the MARTA Breeze Card
- After receiving Breeze Card, go to MARTA and start using your card.
- If you’re arriving at the station / boarding for a bus, look for the blue Breeze targets on the rail gates and bus fare boxes.
- Tap your Breeze Card on these targets
- The reader will let you know whether your card is accepted
- It will show the remaining balance of your Breeze Card.
How to use Transfers?
Every Breeze Card and Ticket comes with four transfers. You can change bus routes or switch from bus to train (and vice versa) without using extra fare. The way transfers work depends on your travel.
If you’re transferring from a train to a bus,
- The transfer will be loaded to your Breeze Card or Ticket when you tap to exit the station fare gates.
- The fare gate screen will display the word “transfer” to confirm that a transfer was loaded to your card or ticket.
- Once you board the bus, tap the Breeze Card or Ticket again to use the transfer.
If you’re transferring from bus to train or from bus to bus,
- The transfer will be automatically added to your card or ticket when you first board the bus and tap the fare box.
- All you need to do is tap your card or ticket again to enter the station fare gates or when boarding the next bus.
Types of Fares
There was 3 ways to purchase MARTA Breeze Cards. Purchase a Breeze Card in Person You must choose the fare type and load onto to your New Breeze Card by purchasing the card for $2 before riding MARTA. Buying a Breeze Card in person is your best for same-day travel. Buying Breeze Cards Online Silver Breeze Cards are also available online at breezecard.com. Once you register and sign into your account, follow the prompts to purchase a new card. You’ll have all the same options balance, fare management. Note: Visa, MasterCard and Discover for online purchases are accepted. You’ll need to visit one of our stations if you plan on using any other type of payment. Buying a Breeze Card at a MARTA Pop-Up MARTA partnered with DeKalb, Fulton, and Clayton counties to bring Breeze Card services to the communities they serve. Every month, MARTA travels to various locations in these service areas for individuals to purchase and reload Breeze Cards, in addition to other services. For services, pop-up locations, and dates, visit here. NOTE: Currently this service canceled due to COVID-19. It is important to check your balance before boarding MARTA. You’ve three ways of making sure your fares are up to speed with Breeze. Through Online check Once you’ve setup an account on breezecard.com, follow the below steps. Every fare loaded onto your card — along with any extra cards you’ve purchased — will appear on that page. Any changes you want to make from there are only a couple clicks away. Checking Your Balance by Phone Please contact: 404-848-5000 to check your card balance and an automated answering service will sent to you. Check through Person Breeze Cards are plastic cards designed to reuse and reload as often as you need. You have two options for reloading your Breeze Card. Breeze Vending Machines and MARTA RideStores both offer ways to reload your card. The process is similar to purchasing a new card except. Select the on-screen option to add new fares and passes to your existing card. RideStores and Cashiers If you have an account at breezecard.com and have already linked your Breeze Card to your account, you can add fares and passes to your card online. Just login and purchase the types of fare you need. Fares will be loaded onto your card in 24 hours or less. Any fares purchased online will remain under New Products until they’re loaded onto your card the next time you ride MARTA. Note: We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover for online purchases. You’ll need to visit one of our stations if you plan on using any other type of payment. Loading “Stored Value” Stored value refers to the dollar amount loaded on a Breeze Card that may be used to purchase fare. To load stored value onto a Breeze Card, you may use cash or a credit/debit card at a Breeze Vending Machine at a MARTA station or MARTA RideStore. If you want to buy an additional Breeze Cards or replacing an old one, you can visit ordering cards online. Once you’ve made your purchase, you can expect delivery to take one business week. If you don’t have time to wait for new cards to arrive, your may try the option through Persson. There is 2 options for placing a group order. Its depends upon how many Breeze Cards you plan to order at once. Every card you purchase as part of the group order must come loaded with the same type of fare. If you want to preload a different type of fare, you’ve to purchase a second order. Group Pass Sales MARTA’s Group and Convention program is perfect for visitors, hotel guests, conference attendees, volunteers and other groups. Passes can be ordered in advance and are available for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7-day passes. Day passes provide unlimited rides for users during consecutive day travel, beginning with the first day of use. Rides are good on MARTA’s trains and buses. Day Pass Cost NOTE: Discounts are only available on Breeze fare. Orders can be purchased directly with a check if picking up in person, credit card, or invoiced through a consignment agreement. MARTA has a transit station on the west end of the domestic terminal inside Hartsfield Jackson-International Airport, which makes transit service accessible by rail to many Downtown, Buckhead, Midtown, and Perimeter hotels. MARTA trains operate from approximately 4:45 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. weekends and holidays. Buses run from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. weekends and holidays. Times vary on individual bus routes.
