BPTC, a private joint venture between UK-based Mobico Group PLC and Bahrain’s Ahmed Mansoor Al-Aali (AMA), oversees Bahrain’s Public Transport Network since its appointment by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications in 2015. It is responsible for operating the public bus network and providing upgraded buses, equipment, and passenger terminal infrastructure while adhering to international standards.

What are the Luggage Limitations for Bahrain Bus Passengers?
The below items are NOT to be carried by passengers under any circumstances:
- Combustible, hazardous, or corrosive items.
- Uncovered tins of paint, or any other liquid.
- Sheets of glass.
- Any individual item of luggage (except suitcases) weighing more than 10kg.
- Accumulators and other types of lead/acid batteries.
- Unaccompanied luggage or parcels.
- Any item likely to cause injury or offence to fellow passengers or staff.
- Any item likely to cause damage to our vehicles.
- Any item causing a smell offending other passengers, such as pungent food (fish, etc.).
Are Pets/animals are allowed on Bahrain Bus?
Pets/animals are not allowed on Bahrain Bus, with the exception of the below:
- Assistance dogs for disabled customers.
- Guide dogs / hearing dogs.
The operator (Bahrain Bus) does not accept any liability howsoever caused for the loss, death or injury to animals whilst being shuttled, unless caused through negligence by the operator or its representatives.
What must you have while boarding on Bahrain Bus?
- Valid ticket or GO Card required for travel on Bahrain Bus.
- Pay the driver in cash (maximum BD 5.000) for sufficient change.
- Ask the driver any questions when the bus is stationary and safe to receive travel information.
- Buses are equipped with ramps and dedicated wheelchair spaces with seatbelts for wheelchair users’ safety.

1. Are Scooters, e-Bikes, and Bicycles Allowed on the Bus?
- Only folding bicycles are allowed on the bus once stored in bags on our services. This regulation is in place to ensure safety and more space for passengers on the bus. Electric scooter regulations need to be reviewed before boarding the bus.
2. Where Can I Check Bahrain Bus Real-Time Departures / Bus Location Status?
- You can view the Live departure screens at bus terminals and Scan the QR codes at bus stops. You can also use links of Bahrain Bus app. If you’ve already know the bus stop code for your bus stop (it can be found on bus stop posters), you can use the following link’: “screen.bahrainbus.bh/stopcode”
3. What are the Key Points to remember when waiting at a Bus Stop?
- The destination of the bus, as well as the bus number, will be displayed on the front, side, and rear ends of the bus.
- Please wait for all passengers to get off the bus before boarding from the front door.
- If you require easier access through a lower entrance, inform the driver prior to boarding and ensure the entrance has fully lowered before you proceed to enter.
4. Can I smoke on board the bus?
- No, Smoking of any kind, including vaping, is prohibited while on board Bahrain Bus.
5. Do I need to signal the Driver to stop, when I want to Board the Bus?
You can stand on the pavement at the bus stop and wave at the driver when your bus is approaching to let them know you want to board. If you do not signal the driver, it is possible that they drive past without seeing you.
